NAMI Hifi

NAMI HiFi is one of Milan's more disciplined listening bars. Conversation continues at a low level for much of the evening, then stops when a featured album begins. The record plays through in full. It is a simple ritual, and a useful distinction in a city where the listening-bar label has spread faster than listening itself. The two-level room in Brera was designed by Studio Dragò around a custom analogue system. Restored wooden-and-brass horn speakers provide the focal point, with hand-adjusted crossovers and stabilised power. Exact component models have not been published, but the design work goes beyond installing expensive boxes beside the cocktail bar. Lele Sacchi directs a broad music policy covering jazz, soul, ambient, classical, electronic music and rock. Guest selectors and themed nights sit alongside the full-album sessions. NAMI is best for listeners who enjoy a polished room and a proper drink, yet still want the record to interrupt the conversation occasionally.
