Spincoaster Music Bar is the physical version of the Tokyo music media platform: a small Shinjuku/Yoyogi bar where playback format is part of the night. Records and hi-res files sit on separate speaker paths, so the difference between analog warmth and digital clarity is part of the point. The hi-res side runs through KOON 400NT speakers and a Sony HAP-Z1ES player. Analog playback uses musikelectronic geithain RL904 speakers and a Technics SL-1200GAE-K turntable. Guests can request music from the in-house library, which keeps the room closer to a listening bar than a normal DJ bar. Go with a couple of records or artists in mind. Spincoaster is for people who like comparing format, tone, and room feel without needing the strict silence of an old-school jazz kissa.
