KISSAKEKO is a tiny sake listening bar on Mason Street in Nob Hill, San Francisco. The room is only about 400 square feet, with space for a handful of listeners, so the format is naturally quiet and focused: sake, records and close listening rather than background music. The music policy is mostly jazz, with occasional blues or contemporary records, and playback is vinyl-only. Records are played with care, usually without interruption, in a room where conversation stays low. The drinks side is just as focused. Expect artisanal sake, a few Japanese beers and no broad food menu. KISSAKEKO feels closer to a small jazz kissa than a general nightlife venue.
