Upstairs Records & Bar is exactly what the name says: a Shimokitazawa record shop with a bar attached, or a bar that never really stops being a record shop. The shelves lean rare groove, disco, funk, house and dance music, with enough rock and folk to keep the browsing loose. This is not a silent audiophile room. It is more useful than that: a late-night record-store bar where drinking and digging overlap. The music is close because the records are close. Best for people who like the social side of buying records as much as the listening.
