The Little Jerry is a College Street wine bar with the priorities of a listening room. It opened before Toronto had much of a visible listening-bar scene, and the format still feels local: wine, snacks, a small room, and records selected by people who care what happens after the needle drops.
The system is unusually serious for a neighbourhood bar. Klipschorn corner horns, Sound Physics Labs Synergy Horns, OJAS Bookshelves with Azura Horns, and Klipsch La Scalas are powered by a stack of tube amplification, with modified Technics SL-1200s feeding a Condesa Carmen V mixer. The room treatment keeps the gear from turning the space into a volume contest.
Local collectors and selectors play several nights a week, with the music moving through soul, disco, jazz, ambient, classical, and whatever else suits the room. The best seat is close enough to hear why the system matters, but the bar is still loose enough for a proper conversation.
Salon Badin is a basement cocktail jazz bar in Little Burgundy, entered from Rue Notre-Dame Ouest and run with the mood of a small hi-fi lounge. The setting is polished, but the music is not decorative. Vinyl DJs and jazz groups are part of the format.
The system is vinyl-only and includes McIntosh MC901 Dual Mono amplification. That puts serious headroom behind a room that could easily have settled for a polite background setup. Instead, the bar leans into lower light, seated drinks, and a sound-first pace.

Bar Gobo is a hi-fi wine bar on Union Street with a simple house rule: all vinyl, all the time. Wine, cocktails, food, and records share the same small room, and the listening setup has been treated as part of the bar rather than an afterthought.
The system currently uses 1972 Altec Lansing 846b Valencia speakers, a Dynaco ST-70 tube amplifier, a Resor 2500 rotary mixer, and modified Technics SL-1200 mk2 turntables. ArchiveElectronic tuned the room for acoustic clarity, with Space Lab involved on equipment supply and consulting.
The music policy stays broad and personal. Resident selector Paul shapes the room from night to night, so the bar lands closer to a lived-in record room than a fixed-format audiophile lounge. It suits wine, vinyl, and a system with enough character to make the evening slower.
FONO is a hi-fi bar and event space in Centretown, Ottawa, inside a renovated 1925 building on Bronson Avenue. The front room is the Hi-Fi Lounge: low lighting, cocktails, natural wine, snacks, vinyl, DJs and a bar setup built around listening rather than screens.
The sound system uses hardwood speakers from Automatic Audio, placed around the room with DJ gear behind the bar. The exact turntables, mixer and amplification are not publicly specified, but the room is set up for controlled listening at social volume. Ottawa Citizen noted that conversation is possible while music is playing, which is a useful signal for the kind of experience FONO is aiming for.
FONO also has a separate Ballroom for concerts, DJ nights, listening parties and community events. Best for drinks and records in the lounge, or checking the calendar when the room shifts into a more event-led night.
Amber is a vinyl listening bar and restaurant in Gastown, set inside the Anchor Building at 99 Powell Street. Records, cocktails and food share the same room without reducing the music to background noise.
The room is Tokyo-inspired but Vancouver in tone: polished, low-lit and dining-led, with vinyl-forward programming and a vintage hi-fi system. The format points toward seated listening, dinner and drinks rather than a loud bar-crawl stop.
