Voulkanizater is a sound-first restaurant and bar in Koukaki, set inside a former tyre-repair space. The format is plain: hi-fi sounds, bar, restaurant. The result is not a quiet kissa, but a designed restaurant-bar where acoustic planning is part of the build. The room was shaped around sound coverage, with sound-absorbing materials and no open kitchen for acoustic reasons. Modern speakers and a mixer are part of the setup, selected to avoid dead spots across the space. The appeal is the listening architecture as much as the food and drinks.
