Agreement

These terms are between you and CityCrumbs, Inc. ("CityCrumbs", "we", "us"). By using this website, joining the waitlist, or using the CityCrumbs app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Who can use CityCrumbs

You must be at least 18 to use CityCrumbs, and you must be able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for anything that happens under your account, including keeping your login secure.

What CityCrumbs is

CityCrumbs lets people save places, write notes about them, build lists, and pass them to people they know. Recommendations come from other users. We don't verify them. A place may have closed, changed, or simply not be to your taste. Use your judgement.

Your content

What you post stays yours. By posting it you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and share it in order to run the service — including showing it to people you share a list with, and publishing it as described below.

Marking a list public publishes it on the open web. It gets a page on citycrumbs.com, readable by anyone with the link and no account, listed for search engines, embeddable on other sites, and reachable by AI assistants and their crawlers. A private list is none of those things. The public/private setting on each list is how you control this, and it is worth understanding before you post — our Privacy Policy has the detail.

You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything you don't have the right to post.

Things you may not do

We can remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first — unless the content is unlawful, presents a safety risk, or we are required to act immediately. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@citycrumbs.com and a person will look at it.

Text messages

If you join the waitlist you agree to receive automated marketing texts at the number you provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Ending it

You can stop using CityCrumbs whenever you like. To delete your account and everything in it, email hello@citycrumbs.com with "Delete my account" in the subject line and we will do it within 30 days. We are building a button for this inside the app; until it ships, email is the way.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks the rules above, on the notice terms described there. If we shut the service down, we will give you reasonable warning and a way to get your lists out.

Deleting your account removes your profile, your crumbs, and your lists. It does not reach copies other people already took, or pages already cached or indexed by search engines and other services we don't control.

Our content

The CityCrumbs name, logo, design, and software are ours. These terms don't give you any right to use them beyond using the service as intended.

Third-party services

The service uses third parties including Google Firebase, Google Maps, Google and Apple sign-in, Render, Twilio, PostHog, and Sentry, and may link to places and websites we don't control. We're not responsible for them.

Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We'll try to give notice where it matters, but we don't promise the service will always be available or error-free.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that recommendations are accurate, current, or suitable for you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, CityCrumbs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify CityCrumbs against claims arising from your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

These terms contain no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver. You keep your right to bring a claim in court, individually or as part of a class.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
